Eight States, One Day
Two days ago, we hit 8 states: Virginia, Maryland, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Missouri.
St. Louis

We started yesterday with a blown-out tire, just before Kansas City. I drove over a hunk of metal. We were lucky; the people behind us shredded two tires. We think they closed the highway for a minute to retrieve the tire-slasher. We got a new tire at Walmart, thanks to Bob & Nate for directions.

This morning, we woke up in Colorado to this.

Road Trip 2007, Leg 1: PA and DC
Megan and I are in sweet Fruita, CO. We will be doing some mountain biking later today and decided to wait out the heat in a coffee shop.
We started our road trip at Megan's parents house in Bethlehem, PA.
We had a BBQ...

Visited Megan's sister, Kate, and met her horse CT. Here she is doing some sweet jumps...

Then we drove to Central PA (aka Pennsyltucky). Megan slept...

We had a fun day visiting Megan's college friends Corynn and Tami (sorry no pics). Then continued to State College, PA to visit my sister, Cyndi, and niece, Jordan. Here we are on a bike ride...

We then drove to the DC area to visit Megan's bro, Dan, and our friends, Doug and Erin and Megan slept...

We got to see Dan's new pad (sweet pad Dan) and visited the Smithsonian. Where Dan got a much need bear hug...

We finished the leg with dinner in old town Alexandria with Doug, Erin and Dan at a Thai restaurant. Turns out that Thai food is pretty spicy. "More water please!" -Megan

Road Trip 2007
Megan and I drove away from Rome, NY on Tuesday 3 July at 1324 to begin our trip across the country. We will end in Salem, OR on 24 July and fly to Micronesia on 2 Aug. We left a lot of good friends in Rome/Syracuse and pledged to see some of them again next summer, only time will tell if we actually do...
On a lighter note here are the highlights of our trip:
3-8 July in PA
9 July Washington DC
10-13 July drive to Southern Utah
14-15 Southern Utah
16-19 Grand Canyon
20-22 Southern California
24-2 Aug Oregon
Then we fly to Micronesia on 2 Aug and begin our island adventure!
Here are all of our worldly possesions before and after packing the car.

Meg Visits Parents
I went to visit my parents, 5 days after Dad's hip replacement. He's doing excellent. He does the stairs just for exercise, which is more than most of us can say! He played a wedding song for me (and Andrew), "I'll Never Find Another You." I think it's by the Seekers. You can watch Dad play here. Mom took a few days off from work and is painting, now that the rest of the kids moved out. Squeak, the guinea pig is squeaking.

Before & After Senegal
Since our wedding, our lives have been full of fun. Sometimes a little crazy, but we're enjoying it.
Soon after our wedding, Andrew and I finished all our classes at SU on a Thursday. The following Monday, we left to spend a workweek near Boston (Andrew had training for work), and then a weekend camping and hiking at Acadia National Park in Maine. The following Wednesday, we left for Dakar, Senegal, where we spent two weeks with our mission team. That's what Andrew's been posting.
While I was in Senegal, Kate (my sister) graduated from college and Dan (my brother) moved to Virginia... drastic measures to avoid my company. :oP
Minus a weekend trip with buddies to Michigan for our friends' wedding, we'll be home for most of June. We plan to take a road trip for all of July. We'll start in Pennsylvania visiting family and friends. We'll swing by D.C./Virgina to see some friends, and hopefully Dan. Then we'll head to the Grand Canyon and surrounding parks for our official honeymoon which includes camping/hiking/biking. We'll finish the month in Oregon with family and friends.
At the beginning of August, we'll hop a plane to Pohnpei, Micronesia, where we'll live for the next year. I'll be teaching math for the College of Micronesia, and Andrew may or may not attempt some fishing, surfing, snorkeling, computer programming, farming, entrepreneuring, biking, relaxing. I hope to join in some of those activities as well. We're both really excited about living internationally, especially in such a beautiful place.
